Dr Helen Webster
My role is to work with academic staff to develop and promote high quality teaching practice which helps students negotiate the complex conventions and practices of UK Higher Education, and become successful independent learners. I’ve worked with staff and students in all disciplines, and at all levels in Higher Education, from pre-sessional and first year undergraduates, to PhD students and Post-docs.
I am a trained teacher, with a PGCE in Higher Education and qualifications in supporting dyslexic students and Mental Health First Aid. I am a member of the Association of Learning Developers in Higher Education and am on the ALDinHE Professional Development Working Group. I’m also a member of the Society for Research in Higher Education. I draw on my background in subject teaching and research to inform my guidance to students.
My portfolio includes research, resource development, course design consultation, workshops and one-to-one sessions.
